    • Kidopedia is written by kids, For Kids. Here it is! This resource is a joint effort of kids all over the world.
    • LetsFindOut.com provides an online Kids' Encyclopedia which is easy to use and fun!
    • LittleExplorers.com provides an online picture dictionary. This is a simple tool to teach youngsters is designed in a the picture-dictionary surfing format for children, as well as for people learning to read English. English to French, German and Portuguese is all accessible. Click on a letter in the alphabet at the top to get started.

GENERAL RESOURCES
    • AllWords.com provides a searchable online dictionary. Their database includes English, Dutch, Italian, French, Spanish, and German words.
    • Altapedia.com offers an online atlas including country insights, and a collection of maps of the world.
    • Bartleby.com offers a collection of resources online including American Heritage Dictionary (3rd ed.), Roget's II: The New Thesaurus, Columbia Encyclopedia (6th ed.), Simpson's Contemporary Quotations, Post's Etiquette, Strunk's Style and much, much more. Search the resources individually or all at once!
    • Dictionary.com provides an English language dictionary including computer jargon and grammar usage and style. In addition they feature a valuable list of other varieties of dictionaries available online. A great find!
    • Funk & Wagnall's insists that you log on, but it is free and they don't get too personal by only requiring your name, state & email address. Once your logged on you have access to their dictionary, thesaurus, encyclopedia, world atlas, animal encyclopedia and media gallery. The media gallery includes maps, flag, anthems, sounds, music, animation, speeches, and photos.
    • Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary & Thesaurus offers an extensive listing of words as well as a free Daily Buzzword e-mail from Merriam-Webster's Word Central. Great for kids!
    • The Newbury House Online Dictionary claims over 40,000 entries. In addition an extensive photo database is also available for access.
    • One-Look Dictionaries is a comprehensive site which acts like a search engine for many of the online dictionary sites by searching them all simultaneously and providing the results...like the hot bot of dictionaries, this site can be a real time saver!
    • Wordsmyth's English Dictionary-Thesaurus is not simply a dictionary. It also provides an SAT dictionary and word lists for each grade level! A very helpful tool!
    • YourDictionary.com not only provides work lookup from the Merriam-Websters Collegiate Dictionary (10th ed.)! Also look for links to 221 online dictionaries in different language categories including Czech, Cantonese, Vulcan and Etruscan.

    • Online Film Dictionary boasting 18 languages! Have some fun and check it out!
    • Frank Dietz has provided us with an extensive list of over 850 online glossaries on subjects from A-Z. You're apt to find a glossary on your area of interest here.
    • Encyberpedia's Web Page of links offers quite a diverse selection of Dictionaries and Glossaries. From a Dictionary of Feudal Terms of England, to an Aquatic Plant Dictionary, to the Clean Air Act Dictionary this listing seems to have a little bit of everything!
