Rail Commuter Service (MARC) The MARC train is also farther
reaching than our extensive network of metro train lines. The MARC operates three
rail lines in the state of Maryland. These lines are the Penn Line, the Camden
Line and the Brunswick Line. The nearest stop for Derwood residents is the Rockville
Metro Station. In general the MARC train carries 20,000 passengers a day. It maintains
a daily route between the westerly station of Martinsburg, WV south to Union Station
in Washington DC, Union Station and Baltimore (2 lines), and Union Station and
its easterly station in Perryville, MD (Cecil County). If you desire to get to
Baltimore Washington International Airport, one alternative is via the MARC train. Maps
of the MARC rail lines are available online: back
