Greetings & Salutations!

Our recent trip to New Orleans was an enjoyable success. As always we enjoyed Cajun cuisine, lots of live music and plenty of merry-making. The weather was not the 80 degrees we enjoyed in 1996, but turned cold and hit the 40's by evening. Adam was a bit chilly, but I came prepared knowing that I adapt to the colder weather more slowly. We also explored one of the many graveyards located in the garden district, which was something new for us. All "burials" must take place above ground because of the sealevel issues. We really had fun and the trip proved to be quite unifying after our recent out-of-town exploits separately.

I thought I would share some of the photos we took. Enjoy!

All the Best,
Laura

Picture 1: Here's Adam with Decater St and Cafe DuMonde in the background.

Picture 2: As you can tell from this Decater St it was warm enough this day for tshirts.

Picture 3: A street performer, who was actually quite amusing, cracked jokes, and entertained an audience while atop a unicycle. Click here for yet another picture of this engaging fellow.

Picture 4: Here I am quite near the same spot where we watched the street performer, across from Jackson Square with the commercial district in the background.

Picture 5: Here is another shot of me in the same spot as picture 4.

Picture 6: Here's a shot of Adam in the courtyard of the Biscuit Palace, where we like to stay when in New Orleans, taken from the front door. We highly recommend apt. #4.

Picture 7: Here's another shot of Adam in the same courtyard a bit closer.

Picture 8: Here I am amidst the crypts in a small cemetery in the garden district. This particular plot had flowers planted and seemed a little cheerier than the rest. Here's another picture of me in the same spot. It appeared that when a recent burial had occurred the plot got a sprucing up. Otherwise it was very much like this picture.

Picture 9: Here I am again while we await the streetcar to carry us back to the French Quarter on our final day.
